Adaline Ferguson

September 12, 1932 — November 19, 2006

Adaline L. Ferguson, 74, of Yankton, SD formerly of Mora, MN and Breckenridge, MN     passed away on Sunday November 19, 2006 at Avera Sister James Nursing Home, Yankton, SD. A�A�A½Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Breckenridge, MN with Pastoral Associate Darcy Troville officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A�A�A½Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN.



Adaline is survived by, her sisters, Georgenna Novak, rural Pipestone, MN, Louise (Jerome) Pierret, Yankton, SD; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by, her parents, Florent and Germaine DeVriend; her husband, Arlin Ferguson; her daughter, Terry Carlson; her sister, Mary Haupert; her infant sister, Florine; her brother-in-law, Milton Novak.



Adaline Louise Ferguson was born on September 12, 1932 in Pipestone County, MN to Florent and Germaine (Wieme) DeVriend. A�A�A½She grew up in Pipestone County and attended country school in Grange Township. A�A�A½She later attended Pipestone High School. A�A�A½After finishing her education she began working for Hess Motor Express in a clerical position.



In 1953 Adaline was united in marriage to Chester I. Kimball. A�A�A½One daughter was born of this union. A�A�A½After their marriage, they moved to Minneapolis where she worked for Litton Co. wiring and assembling microwave ovens. Through the years she also worked for several nursing homes.



On January 17, 1981 Adaline married Arlin A. Ferguson and moved to Breckenridge, MN. A�A�A½She then worked for 3M at Wahpeton, ND from 1981 to 1988 when she had to take early retirement due to rheumatoid arthritis. A�A�A½In the spring of 1998 they moved to Mora, MN to live on her daughter's acreage, and a few years later her daughter, Terry was diagnosed with cancer. A�A�A½She passed away in December of 2001. A�A�A½On February 19, 2002, Arlin passed away unexpectedly. A�A�A½After his death Adaline moved to Yankton, SD to be near her sister Louise. A�A�A½Due to failing health, Adaline moved to Majestic Bluffs Assisted Living in May of 2002 and she lived there until February 2006 when she moved to Avera Sister James Nursing Home.



Throughout her earlier years, Adaline enjoyed dancing, bowling, and also loved doing yard work.
