Adeline Homan, 91, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2005 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus of Breckenridge, MN.
She was born May 8, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Larson) Clausen in rural Rothsay, MN. She grew up in the Rothsay area where she attended school. She was one of 12 children and 1 foster brother. She was baptized and confirmed at Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay.
On June 29, 1933, Adeline married Clarence Thiel. They lived at Pelican Rapids and Elizabeth, MN before moving to Tenney, MN in 1938. The couple owned and managed the Pumpkin Center Service Station until 1950, when they moved to a farm near there. Friends and family were always welcome and they enjoyed entertaining. Clarence passed away in May, 1970.
Adeline married Edward Homan at Tenney United Brethren Church on October 30, 1971. They lived in rural Pelican Rapids, where they enjoyed their families, their home, yard and gardening. They attended Scrambler Church in rural Pelican Rapids. When Edward died in 1981, Adeline moved to Breckenridge, where she lived at the York Manor until 1998, when she entered St. Francis Home.
Adeline was a member of the United Methodist Church of Breckenridge. She will be remembered for her love of life and family. She loved to dance and in her later years she square danced. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, baking and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, who always strived for perfection.
She is survived by: her 2 daughters: Darlene (Clarence) Kutzer, Fairmount, ND; and Sandra Thiel, Naples, FL; her step-son: Keith (Karen) Homan, Pelican Rapids, MN her step-daughter: Virginia Homan, Cohasset, MN; her four grandchildren: Kevin (Diane) Kutzer, Fairmount, ND; Kitti (Roger) Tidd, Fargo, ND; Kyle (Carolyn) Kutzer, Fairmount, ND; Danielle (Andy) Ward, Des Moines, IA; her grandson-in-law: Bob Stein, Fargo, ND; her 13 great-grandchildren: Corey, Tracy & Chris Kutzer; Britta, Erin (Rex) Dahl, Rob Stein; Mike and Michelle Tidd; Lindy and Austin Kutzer; Max, Davis and Clarice Ward; her 3 step-grandchildren: Brad (Julie) Homan, Bloomington, MN; Blake (Jessica) Homan, Saratoga, WA; Nancy (Jeff) Litvick, Minneapolis, MN; her 5 step-great-grandchildren: Emily and Alec Homan, Rachel & Gavin Homan, Oliver Litvik; her sister: Bernice Hennenfent, St. Francis Home, Breckenridge, MN; her foster brother: Leon (Shirley) Smith, Cheney, KS; Many nieces and nephews; and her great-great grandson, Alexander Dahl.
She is preceded by: Her first husband, Clarence Thiel; her second husband: Edward Homan; her granddaughter, Karen Kaye Stein; her parents, Mary and Henry Clausen; her five brothers, Chester, Ervin "Buck", Dale, Curtis and Lyle Clausen (Infant) Her five sisters; Gladys Bilden, LaDonna "Sweetie" Woessner, Evelyn Rediski, Vera Clausen, Buelah Moore.
Pallbearers will be Adeline's great-grandchildren.
