Alice Cox, 68, of Breckenridge, MN, died January 27, 2005 at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls, MN. Her funeral will be Saturday, January 29, 2005, at 1:00 PM at Foxhome Lutheran Church, Foxhome, MN, with Pastor John Andrews officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 28, from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with a prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge.

Alice is survived by: Her children: Richard Spilman, Foxhome, MN;Pam (Paul) Kort, Elizabeth, MN;Brenda (Pete) Slabik, West Fargo, ND; Darlene (Mike)Schroeder,Livermore, CA; Her 7 grandchildren; Her brother: Lawrence (Maxine) Bjerkebek, Casselton, ND; Her brother-in-law: Charlie Cox, Wahpeton, ND; Her sisters-in-law: Bonnie Willprecht, Wahpeton, ND; and Bernadean Lancaster, Tintah, MN; Her many good coffee friends; Many nieces and nephews; and Her pet dog: Muffin.

She was preceded by: Her husband: Carl Cox; Her sisters: Elvina Mortenson, and 2 infant sisters; Her brothers: Albert, Orville, Harry, Ollie

Alice was born April 3, 1936, in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Louis and Ione (Monk) Bjerkebek. She grew up in Fergus Falls and went to school there. On January 8, 1956, she married Vernon Spilman at Motley, MN. The couple had 4 children and made their home in Fergus Falls and later in Foxhome, MN. Alice married Carl Cox on February 25, 1980. They lived in Breckenridge, MN, where Alice worked at St. Francis Medical Center as a nurse assistant and later in the laundry department. She also worked for a short time at Breckenridge Senior Citizen's Center. Carl died on August 2, 2002 and Alice has continued living in Breckenridge.

Alice was a member of Foxhome Lutheran Church and Breckenridge Senior Citizens. She enjoyed baking and having coffee with her friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
