Anna Hanna, 90, of Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Breckenridge, MN passed away on Sunday, October 07, 2007 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Breckenridge, MN with Pastor Mark Manning officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Breckenridge, MN. Interment will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Brandon, MN.

Anna is survived by her three sons, Jack (Joyce) Hanna, Fargo, ND; Rodney (Holly) Hanna, Fenton, MI, Kenneth (Ann) Hanna, Shoreview, MN; her four grandchildren, James (Lori) Hanna, Peoria, IL; Edward Hanna, Portland, OR; Emily (Juhwan) Suh, Minneapolis, MN; Scott Hanna, Shoreview, MN; her great-grandchild, Chase Hanna; her sisters, Lillian Scherer, Indianapolis, IN; Ellen (Toivo) Hulkonen, Alexandria, MN; her brother, Verner (Violet) Haabala, Brandon, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, Jacob and Josephine (Johnson) Haabala; her husband, Harold Hanna; a son in infancy; her sister, Sylvia Haabala; her brother, Archie Haabala.

Anna was born on May 10, 1917 on a farm near Brandon, MN to Jacob and Josephine (Johnson) Haabala. She grew up and attended District #5 country school in Moe Township. She then worked at a resort in the Alexandria area where she met Harold Hanna. She was united in marriage to Harold on November 11, 1941 on the home farm. Following their marriage they moved to Denver, CO where Harold was in the service. After his discharge from the service they returned to farm in the Brandon area. In 1952, they moved to Breckenridge, MN and Harold preceded her in death on June 25, 1955. Anna continued living in Breckenridge and worked at Cal's Diner. From 1968 to 1981 she worked in food service at NDSCS.

People were impressed with Anna's dedication as a young mother in raising her three young sons and getting them through school and college. She was active in Breckenridge Lutheran Church and served in the Breckenridge Lutheran Church Women. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, and time spent visiting with neighbors and friends. She lived seventeen years at York Manor in Breckenridge.
