Betty Ehlert, 62, of rural Breckenridge, MN, died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 11:00 A. M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Breckenridge, MN with Rev. Tony Scheving (from Fargo Baptist Church) officiating. He will be assisted by Fr. Kenneth Popp.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2006, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN.

There will also be visitation on Thursday morning at the funeral home beginning at 8:30 AM until the time of the funeral.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery,Breckenridge.

Betty is survived by: Her husband: LeRoy, Breckenridge; Her son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Jolene (Kappes) Ehlert, Breckenridge, MN; Her daughter and son-in-law: Nicole and Lance Freier, Gardner, ND; Her mother: Hilda Kuehn, Milnor, ND; Her mother-in-law: Henrietta Ehlert, Breckenridge, MN; Her 2 sisters: Deena K. (R. B.) Hopson, Fargo, ND; and Verna Kuehn, Milnor, ND; Her 3 brothers: Dick (Pat) Kuehn, Bud (Joyce) Kuehn, both of Milnor, ND; and Duane (Barbara) Kuehn, Westminster, CO; Her 2 brothers-in-law: LoRen (Debra) Ehlert, Omaha, NE; Jim (Debi) Ehlert, Breckenridge, MN; Her sister-in-law: Lois (John) Ham, Fargo, ND; Her grandson: Job Freier; Many nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was born on October 20, 1942, in Sargent County near Milnor, ND, the daughter of Reinhold and Hilda (Odegard) Kuehn. She attended school in Herman Township and graduated from Milnor High School in 1960. She received her business degree at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND.

On October 16, 1965, Betty was united in marriage to LeRoy Ehlert in Wahpeton, ND. Betty and LeRoy lived near Breckenridge for all of their married years. Betty was a housewife, mother and grandmother. She was employed by Dr. Miller, Wahpeton, sold steel siding for ABC Seamless and Western Products, and was an Avon Representative. Most recently she worked as a bookkeeper for Ehlert Excavating. Betty enjoyed tending her garden, reading The Bible, and spending time with family and friends.
