Christine Radloff, 85 of Breckenridge, MN, formerly of Hankinson, ND and Wahpeton, ND, died April 9, 2004 at St. Francis Medical Center in Breckenridge.
The funeral Mass for Christine will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND, with Fr. Dale Lagodinski officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton. Visitation will be held Monday, April 12, 2004 from 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM officiated by Deacon George Ethier. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday morning.
Christine was born October 15, 1918 near Mooreton, ND, the daughter of William and Margaret (Hafner) Pelzl.
She attended school in Mooreton until the 8th grade and furthered her education at Wahpeton, ND High School.
Christine then worked for her sister, Helen, keeping house and doing child care. She also worked at various places in Hankinson, including Radloff's Meat Market and Don Schmitt's Butcher Shop.
On October 4, 1938, Christine was united in marriage to Helmuth William Radloff at St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Hankinson, where the couple made their home and raised their son, Robert. Helmuth preceded her in death on August 28, 1986. Christine continued living in Hankinson until she moved to Wahpeton in 1971. She became a resident of the Apple Tree Court in Breckenridge, MN in May, 2000. Her son, Robert, passed away November 26, 2003.
Christine was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Eagles Club Aerie 2749 and the VFW Women's Auxiliary all in Wahpeton. She was also a member of the Women's Relief Corp and a 50 year member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She enjoyed playing cards, painting on dish towels and time spent with her family.
Christine is survived by: Her 4 grandchildren: Tami (Jonathan) Northagen, Fordville, ND; Gary (Wanda Freidrich) Radloff, Portland, ND; Randy (Jodi) Radloff, Apple Valley, MN; Teri (Jeff) Knutson, New Rockford, ND; Her 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; Her daughter-in-law: Irene Radloff, Fergus Falls, MN; Her sister: Margaret Fettes, Butte, MT; Her brother: Bernard (Kitty) Pelzl, Zion, IL. Preceded by: Her parents: William and Margaret Pelzl; Her husband: Helmuth W. Radloff; Her son: Robert Radloff; Her sister: Helen Hauge; Her brothers: Arnold, Joseph, Ambrose, Callistius, Adolph and Bill.
