History: Clara was born July 28, 1915 in Wahpeton, ND, the daughter of Charles J. and Edith C. (Jenne) Olson.
She was baptized on April 5, 1922 and confirmed June 29, 1929 in the Congregational Church. Clara was confirmed in the Lutheran church by Pastor Dreyer on January 23, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton. She grew up in Wahpeton, attended Wahpeton schools and graduated from Wahpeton High School as valedictorian of the Class of 1933. She then attended North Dakota State College of Science in the Secretarial Program for 2 years. Following graduation from NDSCS, she moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she worked in a business office of a large department store.
On August 14, 1947, Clara was united in marriage to Herbert R. Stine at St. John's Church in Tyler, ND. The couple made their home and raised two sons in Wahpeton, Grand Forks, Fargo, Mandan and Spring Lake Park, MN. Herbert preceded her in death on May 13, 1965. Clara made her home in Wahpeton, where she worked at NDSCS and later at American Family Insurance. She retired in the 1980's and continued living in Wahpeton.
Clara was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the sewing circle, and Rainbow Bible Class in Wahpeton. She
was also a member of Wahpeton Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, playing cards and doing crafts. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
