Donald Beeler, 83, Foxhome, MN passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at his residence in Foxhome , MN . Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN with Pastor John Andrews officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 5 pm to 7 pm with a prayer service at 7 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN . There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery , Breckenridge , MN .



Donald was born on June 26, 1926 to Wallace and Mabel (Olson) Beeler at Fairmount , ND . He grew up and attended school at District 76 until it closed. He then continued his education at Campbell , MN . After he completed his schooling Donald entered the US Navy serving in the South Pacific in WW II until 1946.



He was united in marriage to Leona Olthoff on June 4, 1946 at Breckenridge , MN . He became a bricklayer and worked for many local contractors. He was a 50 year Gold Card member of the Bricklayers Union. After his retirement he and a partner started the Foxhome Central Bar. After Donald sold the bar, he and Leona started an antique store in Foxhome and later a convenience store. Leona passed away on October 8, 1995 and he continued to live in Foxhome.



Donald was a life member of the VFW and the NRA. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, gunsmithing, locksmithing, and playing on his Kubota.



Donald is survived by his children: Kathy Beeler (Fiancé Robert Sandstede), Sioux Falls, SD and children Kimberly and Krista; Randy (Kathy) Beeler, Alexandria, MN and children Nikki, Rebecca, and Tiffany; Debbie (Bernie) Miller, Foxhome, MN and children Joshua, Jeremy, and Ricky Fay; his brother, Joseph (Lilly) Beeler, Booneville, AR; his 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by: his parents, Wallace and Mabel Beeler; his wife, Leona Beeler; his daughter, Nancy Fay; his brother, Lawrence Beeler.
