Donald was born to Grace (Getz) and Rudolph Briks on August 30, 1939 in Breckenridge, MN. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School until the 8 th grade and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1957. After graduation, Don joined his father in farming. Then in 1962, he joined the US Army. After his military service was complete, Don returned to the home farm working side by side with his brothers and his father until his father passed away. Although he retired from farming at the age of 40, his heart never truly left the farm. Farming was in his blood.

Donald moved to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas where he made his home for 20 years. He then moved to the Continental Country Club in Wildwood, Florida where he remained until the time of his death.

Don put many miles on his Lincolns during his retirement years, driving back ‘home’ for family functions, never missing holidays or special family events. He also spent much of his free time fishing.

Donald is survived by his brothers, Jim Briks (special friend Marilyn Anderson) of Breckenridge, MN; Jerry (Debby) Briks of Breckenridge, MN; his sisters, Darlene Briks of Houston, TX; Margie Briks of Houston, TX; Shirley Jean Briks of Breckenridge, MN and Beverly (Gregg) Jaehning of Wahpeton, ND; 4 nephews, David (Nina) Jaehning; John (Erica) Jaehning; Richard (Amy) Jaehning; Timothy (Brittany) Jaehning; 3 nieces, Nicole Briks; Erika (Jeff) Stafford; Lindsay Briks (fiancé Bryan Saniti); great-nephews, Goran Jaehning and Aiden Stafford and a great- niece, Piper Jaehning.
