Donald Bullis

Donald (Donnie) Lee Bullis, was born on January 26, 1978 in Norfolk, VA to Alan and Monica (Danzeisen) Bullis. He was baptized and later confirmed at the First Congregational Church of Tintah, MN. He started his education in MN. He along with his father and brothers, moved to the Hastings, NE area for several years and later to Neosho, MO. He came back to Tintah where he attended high school and graduated in 1997 from Campbell-Tintah High School. He was recognized in his Senior year by the Governor of MN, for his Outstanding Achievements and Accomplishments in his education. He then went to the Sun Prairie Trade School in Sun Prairie, WI for Heavy Equipment Operation. This put him into a trade for which Donnie was a natural. He seemed to be a natural born truck driver/heavy equipment operator following in his Dad, Uncles and Grandfather's lifelong work. He worked for area contractors and most recently for Abel farms of Breckenridge.
While growing up, he and his brothers, Jason and Lee, enjoyed 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, motorcycling and anything in the mud. Many hours were spent working on and fixing up anything mechanical.
From 2003 until his car accident on Novemeber 1, 2008, Donnie and Jessica Kassahn resided in Tintah, with his step-son Dominic Stanley and their daughter Kaylee Marie Bullis. During this time Donnie was an active member of the Tintah Fire and Rescue Department.
After suffering a traumatic brain injury due to his accident, Donnie became a resident of the St. Catherine's Living Center of Wahpeton, ND, where he passed away peacefully on June 25, 2010.
Donnie is survived by his fiancé, Jessica Kassahn, his Step-son Dominic Stanley, and his daughter Kaylee Marie Bullis of Tintah, MN. Donnie is also survived by: Father, Alan Lee Bullis, Tintah, Mother Monica Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO, 3 brothers; Jason (Sara) Bullis of Bismarck, ND, Lee (Jessica Donohue) Bullis of Fargo, ND, and Terry Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO. 3 sisters- Sheri (Michael) Martinez of Clute, TX, Sheyenne Bullis of Neosho, MO, and Lynette Fales of Breckenridge, MN; Paternal Grandparents- Donald and Charlotte Bullis of Tintah; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Donnie is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents - Alvie and Barbara Danzeisen.
Pallbearers are: Ryan Abel, Henry Petermann, Sam Davids, Jason Abel, Curtis Petermann, and Tom Davids.
