Douglas (Doug) Milbrandt, 46, of Audubon, MN, formerly of Breckenridge, MN, died December 14, 2004 at St. Mary's Regional Health Center, Detroit Lakes, MN. The funeral will be Saturday, December 18, 2004, at 1:00 PM at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. Officiating will be St. Mary's Pastoral Associate, Darcy Troville. Visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 2004, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home Chapel-Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation two hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home on Saturday.



Doug is survived by: His special friend: Christie Lee, Audubon, MN and her children, Julia and Joanne Riendeau; His daughter: Sarah (Tobey) Christmann, Kindred, ND and their son, Isaac; His father: Gordon Milbrandt, Underwood, MN; His sisters: MaLinda (Myron) Coppin, Wahpeton, ND and their daughter, Miranda; Roxane (David) Tolle, Farmington, MN and their son, Eric; His brothers: Paul Milbrandt, Jamestown, ND and his daughters, Alicia Milbrandt and Shannon (Darren) Privratsky ; Randy Milbrandt, Underwood, MN and his daughters, Amanda and Andrea. He was preceded in death by: His mother, Sally Milbrandt

Doug Milbrandt was born on March 14, 1958 in Breckenridge, MN to Gordon and Sally (Meyer) Milbrandt. He attended school in Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1976. He was active in football, baseball, and wrestling, he played trumpet in the band and was a member of the student council. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and graduated with honors from the Heavy Equipment School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was in the National Guard from 1976 to 1982.

He started working for Burlington Northern Railroad in Breckenridge and was transferred to Dilworth in 1986. In 1985 he attended the American Institute of Taxidermy in Jaynesville, WI and started Waterlife Taxidermy. Doug was united in marriage to Kaia Edland on April 10, 1991. Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, attending auctions and attending sporting events of all kinds.
