Earl W. McGuire, 78, Frazee, MN, died April 18, 2005 at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN. His funeral will be held Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 2:30 P.M. at the Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Breckenridge, MN, with Pastor John Andrews officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Saturday, April 23, from Noon - 2:30 P.M at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Breckenridge.

Earl Willard McGuire was born August 19, 1926 in Makoti, ND, the son of Newton and Hilda (Magneson) McGuire. He grew up in Makoti and attended school there until the 9th grade. Earl entered the U. S. Army on June 18, 1945. He served until he was discharged on Nov. 23, 1946. Earl married Marion Niemann on October 5, 1952. He was employed by Sorenson Construction Co. in Fargo, ND, where he worked for the next 25 years.
On May 23, 1975, Earl was married to Betty J. Berneking at Sisseton, SD. They resided in Abercrombie, ND until January, 1984, when they moved to Breckenridge, MN. Earl worked at Minn-Dak Farmers Co-op in Wahpeton, ND for 16 years, retiring in August, 1991. In October, 1991, Earl and Betty moved to Washington and lived with a daughter, Barbara and grandchildren. In November 2002, they returned to Breckenridge. Since December, 2003, they have been sharing residences with their son, Paul, in Frazee, and mother-in-law, Esther Berneking, in Breckenridge.
Earl was an excellent mechanic and loved helping people in any way he could. He enjoyed bowling, horses, playing cards, fishing, gardening, reading, and watching baseball, football and western movies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
