Edith R. Dimitch, 92, of Wahpeton, ND, died November 14, 2004 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, ND. Her funeral will be Friday, November 19, 2004 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent, MN, officiated by Fr. Stan Wieser. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Friday morning.

Edith is survived by her children: Joanne Haire, Breckenridge, MN; Richard (Martha) Dimitch, Nineveh, IN; Gary Dimitch, CA; Mary Kay Edner, Breckenridge, MN; Donna Edner, Anoka, MN; Her 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren;      Her sisters: Mildred (Alton) Howe, Hopkins, MN; Agnes (Ed) Wilke-Lintott, Punta Gorda, FL; Sister Mary William Stadick, OSB, Richardton, ND

She was preceded by her parents: John and Martha Stadick; Her husband, Mayne Henry Dimitch; A brother: Walter Stadick; Her 2 sisters: Evelyn Anderson and Alice Billstein; Her grandson: Mike Edner; Her great-grandson: Samuel Haire; Two sons-in-law: Patrick Edner and Jerome Haire

Edith was born on August 14, 1912 at Wabasso, MN, the daughter of John and Martha (Manecke) Stadick. At a very young age she moved with her family to Underwood, ND, where she grew up and attended school. On June 15, 1934, Edith was married to Mayne Henry Dimitch. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Washburn, then Hettinger, ND, where Mayne was affiliated with the Gamble's stores. In 1941, they moved to Royalton, MN, where Mayne opened a grocery store. In 1949 he started working with Erickson-Hellickson-Vye Lumber yards, which took him to Plaza, ND and Abercrombie, ND. Mayne died in 1961. Edith moved to an apartment in Breckenridge in 1962 and began working at St. Francis Nursing Home as a Nurse Assistant, where she was employed for 18 years. Following her retirement she made her home at the York Manor. She became a resident of St. Catherine's Living Center in May, 2001.

Edith was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent, and a former member of the Mission Circle and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed traveling, reading, embroidery, playing cards, Bingo, going to casinos, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
