Ed Thomson, 85, St. Francis Home, Breckenridge, MN, formerly of rural Wolverton, MN, died March 27, 2005 at St Francis Home, Breckenridge, MN. His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 11:30 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Kent, MN with Fr. Kenneth Popp officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, from

5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer Service at 6:30 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent, MN.

Ed is survived by:     His brother and sister-in-law: Leo and Lois Thomson, Barnesville, MN; His sisters: Martha Baebler, Barnesville, MN; Gladys Loff, Clinton, MN; Lorraine Gehrig, Barnesville, MN; Many nieces, nephews and cousins

He is preceded by:     His wife: Patricia Thomson; His parents: Theodore and Mary Thomson; His brothers: Alfred and Lloyd; His sisters: Josephine Solien, Esther LeNoue, and Evelyn Fjeldseth.

Edward Theodore Thomson was born October 8, 1919, in Roberts Township near Kent, MN, the son of Theodore and Mary (Pesheck) Thomson. After completing his schooling in Wilkin County country school he spent his entire life farming. Ed had a great love for his animals and was an expert farrier.

On May 24, 1958, Edward was united in marriage to Patricia Devine at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fargo. ND. They made their home and farmed in Mitchell Township, Wilkin County, MN. Patricia preceded him in death on June 15, 1976. Ed remained on the farm until he became a resident of St. Francis Home on September 1, 2000. He was a life long member of St. Thomas Parish in Kent, MN.
