Elaine Pazdernik

Elaine Pazdernik was born February 13, 1934 in Breckenridge, MN as the first of eight children to Edwin and Marcella Pazdernik. She grew up on a farm south of Breckenridge and attended school in Doran, MN. Elaine’s path in life was care giving. After she finished her education, Elaine remained on the family farm to help take care of her brothers and sisters and to pitch in on the farm chores. When Elaine struck out on her own, she became the primary care giver for many families in the Wilkin/Richland county area. In the meantime, her parents’ health began to fail so in 1988, she moved into their home in Clitheral, MN and took care of them until her father died in 1990. She and her mother moved back to the twin town area where Elaine took care of her mother until she passed away in 1994. In 2000 her health began to fail and Elaine entered St. Francis Nursing Home.

Collecting cookbooks and recipes was a hobby that Elaine enjoyed very much. She also liked to do word search puzzles and always looked forward to reading the daily newspaper. She will be remembered for her perpetual smile and her soft-spoken, giving spirit.

Elaine is survived by her 3 sisters Patricia (Kenneth) Berndt, Breckenridge, MN; Darlene Prochnow, Wahpeton, ND; Kathy (Ronald) Barth, Clitheral, MN. Her 4 brothers, Harold (Joycelyn) Pazdernik, Clinton, MN; James (Bonita) Pazdernik, New Salem, ND; Irvan (Tonya) Pazdernik, Alexandria, MN; Ivan (Cindy) Pazdernik, Alexandria, MN.

Preceded by her parents, Edwin and Marcella (Korinek) Pazdernik.
