Eva Cossette, 101, of Breckenridge, MN died on June 3, 2012 at St. Francis Nursing Home, Breckenridge. The visitation is Tuesday, June 5 at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7. The funeral is Wednesday, June 6 at 10:30 am, at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Dale Lagodinski officiating. Interment is at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge.

Eva, the eldest of ten children was born on December 24, 1910 to John and Eva (Baune) Lord in Forget, Saskatchewan, Canada. At the age of one, her family moved to Bottineau County, North Dakota where she was raised and attended school. On December 28, 1926, she was united in marriage to Edward Cossette in Dunseith, ND. They moved to Wild Rice, ND and later to Breckenridge, MN. Eva was employed at the Stratford Hotel and later at St. Francis Nursing Home as a nurse's aide. In 1984, Eva and Edward moved to Jamestown, ND. Edward preceded her in death in 1994. Eva returned to Wahpeton, ND in 2006 where she resided at the Leach Home. In 2011, she moved to the St. Francis Nursing Home. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, the Eagle's Drill Team and the Eagle's Auxiliary.
Eva will be remembered for her strong faith, her love of family and her hard work ethic. Her family recalls listening intently to Eva tell of childhood memories and life stories. With much love, she crafted beautiful handmade quilts and prepared many delicious family meals.
Eva is survived by one son and two daughters. Raymond (Deb) Cossette, Wahpeton, ND; Doris (Melvin) Hubrig, Hankinson, ND; and Judy Lind, Jamestown, ND; 21 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.
Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Edward of 68 years, a son Edward Cossette, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, two grandchildren, her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
