Genevieve was born February 24, 1915 in Sibley , Iowa to Hulda (Eberhardt) and Franklin Green. She was raised on the farm during her early life with her parents and siblings moving from Sibley to Worthington , Minnesota , then on to Slayton, Fergus Falls , and finally Breckenridge , MN . She attended rural elementary schools and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1933. Following graduation Genevieve moved with her sister Kathryn to Minneapolis , MN where she attended and graduated from North Central Bible College .

Genevieve married Glen V. Wolters on August 6, 1948 in Webster , SD. Together they spent their married life in Breckenridge raising three children. They were married 44 years before Glen’s passing in 1992. She was a devoted wife, mother and servant to her Lord and family members. She worked mostly as a homemaker. Later she worked part time as a housekeeper for several years. She raised three children: James Glen and Richard William Wolters and one daughter, Gloria (Wolters) Johnson. Genevieve was especially devoted to her loving husband stating many times “we both had a wonderful life together – serving God and always attending church.” She took special pride knowing that she raised her children in the church to serve God stating on many occasions, “train your children when they are young in the way that they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.”

Genevieve cherished her work and devotion to her church, The Church of God, in Wahpeton, ND. She was an active member for over 65 years, teaching Sunday school, a member of the women’s ministry and served as treasurer for many years. She was a woman of great faith and spoke boldly about her Lord.

Genevieve will always be remembered for her ability to prepare and serve impromptu meals to her family, friends and often strangers alike. She welcomed everyone into her home and felt this was her ministry, such an example of love and Christianity. She will be greatly missed, cherished and loved by her remaining family and friends.
