George Kellogg

November 21, 1918 — September 27, 2007

George W. Kellogg, 88, Wahpeton, ND, formerly Breckenridge, MN, died September 27, 2007 at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton.

His funeral will be held Thursday, October 4, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Breckenridge, MN with Pastor Terry Tilton officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home on Thursday.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge.

George is survived by: His two sons: Gerald (Roxine) Kellogg, Lynnwood, WA; Eugene (Ramona) Kellogg, Cortney, OR; His sister: Geraldine (Quentin) Goss, San Diego, CA; His 4 grandchildren: Mariah Kellogg Kindel, Mindy Kellogg Walker, Nicole Kellogg and Matana Kellogg; His 4 great-grandchildren

George William Kellogg was born November 21, 1918 in New Rockford, ND, the son of Ira and Eugenie (Weisman) Kellogg. As a child he moved with his family to Breckenridge, MN, where he was educated. George graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1935. He then attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND for two years, and went on to NDSU in Fargo, ND, taking Business Management courses.

George then worked at a defense manufacturing company. In 1941, he returned to Breckenridge and began working for the Great Northern Railroad. In November, 1973, he was married to Mary Ginnow in Breckenridge. The couple lived in Fargo for a short time before returning to Breckenridge. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2004. George continued living in Breckenridge until moving to St. Catherine's Living Center in May, 2006.

George was a member of the United Methodist Church in Breckenridge and a former member of the Masonic Lodge.
