Gladys was born on October 14, 1919 to John and Minnie (Semple) Lechleiter near West Fargo, ND. Because she had been afflicted with polio at a very young age she began attending grade school at age seven. Gladys graduated from NDAC High School in 1938, and furthered her education at Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. From there she went to Washington, D.C. to work as Secretary for Inter-American Affairs under Nelson D. Rockefeller. While Gladys was living on the east coast, her parents moved to a farm near Breckenridge, MN.

Unfavorable climate conditions forced Gladys to return to Fargo, where she worked for the Internal Revenue Service. On the weekends she made many trips traveling to and from her parent's farm near Breckenridge. It was then that Gladys met Clifford Pazdernik. The couple was married on May 22, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge. This year would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.

Gladys and Cliff made their home and raised their family on a farm south of Breckenridge. While living on the farm she worked as a secretary for Wilkin County Farm Bureau. In 1975 they moved to Breckenridge after selling the family farmstead. (This is now the Valley Lake Boys Home.) She retired in 1978.

Gladys was an excellent seamstress. She did plastic canvas, cross stitching and enjoyed playing Whist and Gin Rummy. She also enjoyed traveling the U.S., cooking and canning. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
