Gordon Milbrandt

February 16, 1930 — July 5, 2005

Gordon Milbrandt, 75, of rural Underwood, MN passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.



He was born on February 16, 1930 to Arnold and Louise (Buckhouse) Milbrandt in Hankinson, ND. He grew up and attended rural school near Hankinson. In November, 1952 Gordon entered the US Army and was discharged in November of 1953.



On November 17, 1952 Gordon was united in marriage to Sally Meyer in Wahpeton. After returning from the Army they made their home in Breckenridge and Gordon began working for the Breckenridge Street Department. He retired on November 29, 1985. In 1986 they moved to a farm near Underwood, MN. Sally preceded him in death on December 17, 1991. He continued to live on the farm until his death.



Gordon was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church of Battle Lake, MN, Eagles Club Aerie #2749, and the American Legion of Ashby, MN. He enjoyed gardening, bingo, dancing, and he especially enjoyed time spent with his family and his special friend, Laura.



Visitation: Friday, July 8, 2005 from 4 - 7:30 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home - Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.



Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 9, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge, MN

Interment: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery of Battle Lake, MN
