Helen Dawson

February 24, 1909 — June 22, 2006

Helen Dawson, 97, Fargo, ND, died June 22, 2006 at Manor Care in Fargo. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 10:30 AM at St. Gall's Catholic Church, Tintah, MN. Fr. Andrew Marthaler will be officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, June 26, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Campbell, MN.

She is survived by: Her 3 daughters: JoAnn (Earl) Stein, Shawano, WI; Kathy (James) Schaefer, West Fargo, ND; Mary (Gary) Bauer, Sauk Rapids, MN; 7 grandchildren: Eric (Missie) Bauer, Chad Bauer, Adam Bauer, Luke Bauer, Jenny Stein, Tim (Dawn) Schaefer, Tracy Schaefer; 2 great-grandchildren: Blake and Grant Schaefer.

Helen Gertrude Tichlofen was born February 24, 1909 in Burlington, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Caroline (Beguhl) Tichlofen. She attended St. Mary's grade school and graduated from Burlington High School in 1927. She worked in several offices as a bookkeeper for 10 years.

Helen married Howard J. Dawson on February 6, 1937 in Burlington. The couple made their home near Tenney, MN, where they farmed and raised their 3 daughters. Howard preceded her in death on March 8, 1979. Helen continued living on the farm until 1994, when she moved to Co-operative Living in West Fargo, ND. In October, 2003 Helen moved to Manor Care in Fargo.

She was a member of St. Gall's Catholic Church and Ladies Aid in Tintah, MN, the Tenney Birthday Club, and Campbell Senior Citizens.
