Josephine Ross, 94, Campbell, MN, died April 9, 2006 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at 10:30 AM at Faith Community Church, Campbell, with Pastor Tim Ysteboe officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Prayer service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Campbell.

Josephine is survived by:     Her two sons: Duane (Elaine) Ross, Brookings, SD; and Neil (Corrine) Ross, Breckenridge, MN. Her two daughters: Wilma (Harris) Richardson, Tenney, MN; and Renae Olson, Fargo, ND; Her six granddaughters: Tonya Ross, Breckenridge, MN; Hayley (Kent) Ness, Devils Lake, ND; Janele (Randy) Rittenour, Campbell, MN; Joele Richardson, St. Paul,MN; Jenny Olson, Fargo, ND; and Olivia Olson, Fargo, ND; Her great-grandaughters: JoHannah (David Lahti) Rittenour, St. Cloud, Minnesota; Jayden and Josie Rittenour, Campbell, MN; Her great-grandson: Ty Ness, Devils Lake, ND; Her great-great granddaughter: Harris Lahti, St. Cloud, MN; Her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by:Her parents: Joseph and JoHannah Lievering; Her husband: Ernest "Ike" Ross; Her sisters: Winnifred (John) Donnan; Mattie Davis; and Cora Sunde;      Her brothers-in-law: George (Leona) Ross; Norman (Helen) Ross; Raymond (Gladys)Ross; and Jim Ross; Her sisters-in-law: Marion (Herman) Lenzer, Fern (Joe) Guthmiller, Gladys (Bill) Crawford



Josephine Jennie "Josie" Lievering was born December 24, 1911, in rural Campbell, Minnesota, daughter of Joseph and JoHannah (Loeks) Lievering. Her mother died when she was six and her father moved the family, Josie and her three sisters, into Campbell. She attended school there.

Josie was married to Ernest "Ike" Ross on December 31, 1935. They continued to live with her father in Campbell. Ike worked for Great Northern Railroad while Josie raised their family. She began working for other families in the area as a daycare provider. Ike died in May of 1963.

She was a longtime resident of Campbell and a member of the First Baptist Church, now consolidated with First Congregational to form the Faith Community Church. Josie moved to St. Francis Home in July of 2002. She enjoyed music, puzzles, gardening and reading. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. Her life was spent following the activities of her children and spending time with her grandchildren.
