Joyce Morrison, 70, of Wahpeton, ND died December 28, 2004 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND. Her funeral will be Friday, December 31, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Breckenridge, MN. Pastor Michael Gustafson will officiate.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Cindy Krause of Lindstrom, MN; and Two sisters, Jean Morrison, Hallock, MN and Jane Clark, Walhalla, ND.
She was preceded by Her parents: Eddie and Anna Mae Bjornstad
History: Joyce was born on May 23, 1934 in Walhalla, North Dakota to Eddie and Anna Mae (Karel) Bjornstad. She attended school in Walhalla and graduated from Walhalla High School in 1951. She attended Valley City College for a year and then taught country school near Cavalier, ND until 1953 when she returned to Valley City College. From 1954 to 1965 she taught in various schools including Park River, Hamilton, and St. Thomas. She was then a Bar Tender in Cavalier until 1968 when she moved to Poplar, MT to teach. In 1970 she returned to Valley City College.
In September of 1971 she became a teacher at the Circle of Nations School in Wahpeton, ND and taught there until 1987. She resided in Wahpeton and worked for various employers including, 3M, Minn-Dak Farmers Coop, Four Seasons Plant Center, Sigco-East Plant, and the Census Bureau. In 1990 she began working for St. Catherine's Living Center and was employed there until 2003.
Joyce enjoyed gardening, painting, bead work and especially the time that she spent with her daughter.
