June 15, 1914 — March 30, 2005

Kenneth Clifford Jacobson, 90, of Breckenrdige, MN died on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at St. Francis Medical Center in Breckenridge. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Breckenridge, MN with Pastor David Cripe officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Kenneth is survived by two nieces, Virginia (Richard) Peterson of Milnor, ND and Julie (Lee) Sethre of Breckenridge, MN; two nephews, Merle (Betty) Johnson of Wahpeton, ND and Gary Boe of Colorado Springs, CO; plus, many other out-of-state nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Anne Jacobson; his five brothers, John, Hjalmer, Theodore, Alvin, and Martin; and his four sisters, Minnie, Myrtle, Alice, and Miranda.

Kenneth was born in the Galchutt area of Richland County to Julius and Anne (Kolstad) Jacobson on June 15, 1914. He was the youngest of ten children in the family.

Kenneth was 14 years of age when his father died in 1928 and he, because of the times, more or less went on his own getting work wherever it was available. In mid-life, he worked for many years at the Abercrombie Meat & Locker Plant in the slaughtering department.

Shortly after this business was sold by Mr. Boutiette, Kenneth returned to working as a farm laborer. Kenneth owned and maintained a small home in the city of Kent and worked for the Tschakert families of the Kent, MN area.

When age and health conditions caused his retirement he moved into Park Manor in Breckenridge and was a resident there until his death.

Kenneth was a quiet person with a dry sense of humor who enjoyed old-time dancing in his earlier years. He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, hunting, and belonged to the Kent Rod and Gun Club. He also enjoyed and was adept at cooking the ethnic things such as lefse, head cheese, and blo-klub. His last endeavor was head cheese just a few months ago.
