Lester Sha, 87, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Breckenridge, MN, died November 19, 2004 at the Denton Senior Care Center, Denton. His funeral will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Breckenridge, MN. Pastor Michael Gustafson will be officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 23, 2004, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at      Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. Interment will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN, with military rites by VFW Post #612.

Lester is survived by:     His 2 sons: Dennis (Linda) Sha, Denton, Texas; and Wayne (Linda) Sha, The Colony, Texas; His 4 grandchildren: Kimberly (Collin) Wissen, Kristin (Chris) Boyd,      Amy Sha and Lindsey Sha; His great-granddaughter: Kaleigh Boyd; His brother: Tom Sha, Rodeo, CA; His sister: Marian Ellingson, Fargo, ND

He was preceded in death by his wife: Della; His parents: John and Jennie Sha; and his sister: Rodell Anderson.

Lester Xavier Sha was born February 10, 1917 to John and Jennie (Ostlund) Sha in Ottertail County, Minnesota. At the age of 7 he moved with his parents to Valley City, ND. He grew to manhood in North Dakota and in 1935 moved to a farm near Foxhome, MN.

Lester entered the U. S. Army in 1941 and served 4 A� years during WWII in the South Pacific. Following his discharge, he came to Breckenridge, MN.

On August 21, 1946, Lester married Della D. Fuder. The couple made their home in Breckenridge where Lester was employed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. In 1973 they moved to Fergus Falls, MN, and he continued working for MnDOT. Lester retired in 1979 and they continued living in Fergus Falls until 1983, at which time they moved back to Breckenridge. Della preceded him in death on September 18, 1985. Lester lived in Breckenridge until October, 1998, when he relocated to Denton, Texas to be closer to his sons.

Lester is a member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #53 both of Breckenridge, MN; and the VFW Post #612 and the Eagles Aerie 2339 of Fergus Falls, MN. He was also a member of the WWII Last Man's Club of Wahpeton/Breckenridge.
