Lucinda Holzbauer,93,of rural Breckenridge, MN died December 1, 2004 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, ND. Her funeral will be Monday, December 6, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Breckenridge, MN, Officiated by Fr. Kenneth Popp. Visitation will be Sunday, December 5, 2004, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 P.M. and Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN.



Lucinda is survived by: Her 3 daughters: Mary Lou Friederichs, Doran, MN; Evelyn (Bernard) Polansky, and Marcia (Wayne) Heley, both of Lidgerwood, ND; Her 2 sons: Alfred J. (Phyllis) Holzbauer and Gerald (Gail) Holzbauer, both of Breckenridge, MN; Her 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.



She was preceded by: Her husband: Alfred F. Holzbauer; Her son: Thomas; Two grandchildren; Her parents: Matthew and Marie Birgen; Her 2 sisters: Catherine Yaggie and Isabelle Sees; Her brother: Felix Birgen; Her son-in-law: John L. Friederichs



Lucinda was born on the home farm at Beresford, SD, the daughter of Matthew and Marie (Mullenkort) Birgen. She grew up and attended grade school in that area before attending Mount Marty High School at Yankton, SD, graduating in 1929. Following graduation Lucinda worked on the home farm. On October 18, 1933, Lucinda was united in marriage to Alfred F. Holzbauer at Beresford. They farmed near Wagner, SD for 5 years and then moved to their farm near Breckenridge. Lucinda was actively involved with the family farm until her husband retired in 1973. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Breckenridge, St. Agnes Mission Circle, Christian Mothers and Lady Foresters. Alfred preceded her in death on January 24, 1992. She continued living on the home farm until September 2001, when she became a resident of St. Catherine's Living Center.

Lucinda enjoyed gardening, flowers, making quilts, mending clothing and taking care of her livestock. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren
