Madelia Leske

July 21, 1914 — January 27, 2005

Madelia Leske, 90, of Wahpeton, ND, died January 27, 2005 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, ND. The funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mantador, ND, with Father Dale Lagodinski     and Fr. Jake Miller officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 31, 2005 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM with a rosary to follow at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation at the church on Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 AM, with a Christian Mothers Rosary at 9:15 AM. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Mantador, ND.

Madelia is survived by: Her 3 daughters: Diane Manske, Upland, CA; Margaret (Larry) Vogt, New London, MN; Mary Tierney, Breckenridge, MN; Her 2 sons: Helmuth (Carol)Leske, Jr., West Fargo, ND; Norman (Beverly) Leske, Hesperia, CA; Her 17 grandchildren; Her brother: Norbert Puetz, Bellview, WA; Her 3 sisters: Delores Lenz, Wahpeton, ND; Regina Haberman, Wahpeton, ND; RoseAnn Belunas, Milwaukee, WI

Madelia Elizabeth Puetz was born July 21, 1914 near Wyndmere, ND, the daughter of Leo and Anna (Rieland) Puetz. She grew up and attended school in the Mantador, ND area. Following her formal education she worked as a housekeeper and later at the Bagg Farms. She also worked in Fairfax, MN in a cafAsh where she cooked.

Madelia was united in marriage to Helmuth Leske on September 30, 1940 in Mantador. They made their home and farmed in the Wolverton, MN and Mantador area until 1968. Helmuth preceded her in death on August 6, 1981. Madelia then moved to Wahpeton. She became a resident of St. Catherine's Living Center in 2002.

Madelia enjoyed gardening, crafting, playing cards and BINGO, and especially enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.
