Mamie Grant, 96, rural Breckenridge, MN passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at her residence at rural Breckenridge, MN. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Breckenridge , MN with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, March 16, 2009 from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN . There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery , Breckenridge , MN .



Mamie was born on October 23, 1912 to Joseph and Christina (Bolik) Pazdernik in Breckenridge Township . She grew up and attended country school south of Breckenridge , MN . She then stayed at home and worked on the farm and also worked for families in Wahpeton doing housekeeping and caring for their children.



Mamie was united in marriage on June 14, 1945 in Ajo , AZ to Donald Grant, Sr. while Donald was still in the US Army. Following his discharge on February 21, 1946 they moved to a farm near Breckenridge. Later they purchased a farm closer to Breckenridge where they have resided since. Don preceded her in death on September 23, 1990 and Mamie continued living on the farm.



Mamie enjoyed fishing, raising chickens, dancing, cooking for family and friends, her vegetable garden, and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters Ramona and Melissa.



Mamie is survived by her sons, Donald Jr. (Betty) Grant, Breckenridge, MN, Norman (Regina) Oberpriller, Lafayette, GA;



Her five grandchildren:Ramona Breuer, Mooreton , ND ; Melissa (Douglas) Stotz, West Fargo , ND ; Matthew, Mark, and Shannon Oberpriller all of Georgia ; her five great-grandchildren; her step-grandchildren, Tammy Wise, Lisa Rott, Dawn Johnson; her sister, Lucille (Melvin) Muehler, Fairmount, ND.



She was preceded in death by, her parents, Joseph and Christina Pazdernik; her husband, Donald Grant Sr.; her five brothers and one sister.
