Margaret Florence Dohman, 97, Wahpeton, ND died March 23, 2010, Breckenridge, MN

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Christian Assembly Breckenridge, MN with a visitation one hour prior at the church. Officiating the service is Pastor Dean Bjorlin. Interment is at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN. Pallbearers are Kayla LaBarge, Dana Williams, Jana Kraus, Brad LaBarge, Mitch Pratt, Kelly Pratt

Margaret was born on a farm in rural Campbell, MN on February 19, 1913 and attended school in Doran, MN until the 11 ^th grade. She went to work in the retail business in different stores in Doran and Wahpeton and eventually acquired a position at the Doran post office where she worked until she retired.

In 1934, Margaret and Fred Ward were united in marriage. The blessing of this marriage was just four short years-Fred passed away in 1938. Margaret once again found love and happiness when she and Jacob Backer were married on April 10, 1939. They made their home in Doran, MN where they lived many happy years together. Jacob preceded Margaret in death in 1953. Then on November 29, 1966, Clare Dohman and Margaret were wed. They made their home on a farm in the rural Campbell area until Clare retired from farming and they moved to Breckenridge. Margaret continued living in Breckenridge until her health began to fail and she moved into the Leach Home in Wahpeton, ND until her passing.

Margaret was a good friend to many people and was always available to lend a helping hand when needed. Her passion was for music. She had a beautiful voice that she shared on many different occasions, including special church services, funerals and family functions. She also enjoyed canning, baking cookies and generously sharing them with others and she made a peach pie that was famously known among her friends and family.

Margaret will always be remembered as a woman of strong faith and her love for her Lord and God’s word.

Margaret is survived by her daughter-in-law: Sandra Backer, Charles City, Iowa; three granddaughters, Kayla (Bradley) LaBarge, Charles City, Iowa and their children, Megan (Logan) O’Brien, and their daughter Devony, and Shannon; Dana (Jeffery)Williams, Freeport, Illinois, and their children, Kelli and Mason.  Jana (Kevin) Kraus, Mason City, Iowa, and their children, Bailey and Brayden

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Abbie (Beving) Seba; husband Fred Ward (married 1934~died 1938); husband, Jacob Backer (married 1939~died 1953); husband, Clare Dohman (married 1966~ died 1991); son, Michael Ward Backer; sister, Martha Salisbury; brother, Charles Seba.
