Mary Dighton, 83, of Breckenridge, MN, died November 8, 2005 at St. Francis Home, Breckenridge. Her funeral will be Friday, November 11, 2005 at 1:30 PM at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Kent, MN with Fr. Kenneth Popp officiating and Pastoral Associate Darcy Troville assisting. Visitation will be Thursday, November 10, 2005, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent, MN.

Mary was born August 12, 1922, the daughter of Bernard and Cecilia (Langevin) Rieber at Kent, MN, where she grew up and attended country school. She then furthered her education at Breckenridge, MN High School. Following her formal education, Mary worked for the railroad as a telegrapher. On August 29, 1949, Mary was married to Robert A. Dighton at Kent. They lived in Moorhead for 2 years prior to moving to Mandan, ND. Mary served as County Treasurer for Morton County, ND from 1974 to 1991. Robert preceded her in death on June 20, 1971. Mary continued living in Mandan until 2002, when she moved to the Leach Home in Wahpeton, ND. In 2003, she became a resident of St. Francis Home in Breckenridge.
Mary enjoyed feeding and watch birds, poetry and painting.
