Mildred Wilson

August 25, 1917 — July 9, 2007

Mildred M. Wilson, 89, Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Breckenridge, MN, died July 9, 2007 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus in Breckenridge. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2007 at Breckenridge Lutheran Church with Pastor Harvey Henderson officiating. Interment will be at the Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, Rothsay, MN. Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Pallbearers will be Terry Hauger, Craig Hauger, Daniel Hauger, Kim Hauger, Darin Tangen and Grant Anderson.

Mildred Myrtle Hauger was born August 25, 1917 in Rothsay, MN, to George and Mina (Carlsrud) Hauger and was delivered by her grandmother, Ellen Carlsrud. As a child, she lived with her parents and brother, Gordon, on the Hauger farm. She attended the Rothsay Country School in Akron Township.

On June 14, 1944, Mildred was united in marriage to Ellert Wilson in California. They farmed in the Rothsay area for several years and later moved to Breckenridge, MN. From 1956 through 1979, Ellert was the Wilkin County Sheriff and Mildred assumed the cooking and many other responsibilities at the Wilkin County Jail. They enjoyed their retirement years together until Ellert's death in 1995.

Mildred was a dedicated and active member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She enjoyed baking and often shared her baked goods with others. Mildred was a friend to many!

Surviving family members include nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother.
