Myrtle was born July 9, 1923 in Lockhart, MN, the daughter of Nikolai and Carrie (Stuhaug) Nelson. She grew up and attended school in Lockhart. Following her formal education, Myrtle worked for various farm homes in the Lockhart area. On May 24, 1941, Myrtle was married to Charles Klindt at her parent's farm home near Lockhart. The couple made their home near Campbell, MN, where they farmed and raised and cared for their family. In 1978 Myrtle and Charles were named Valley Farmer and Homemaker for Wilkin County. The Klindt family was active in leadership and participation in the Campbell Busy Bees 4-H club and this involvement reached the county and state level. Charles preceded her in death on August 7, 1979. Myrtle continued living on the farm near Campbell.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Ladies Aide, Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was a Sunday School teacher, and Vacation Bible School assistant. Many children enjoyed her "homemade" cookies. She was active in the Campbell Senior Citizens and was a Hospice volunteer. For many years she was a member of a local Bridge Club and the Champion Township Homemakers.

Myrtle enjoyed life. She was always willing to help out wherever help was needed. Her home was always open to whoever was in need. She enjoyed caring for her large vegetable garden, and loved to visit and play Bingo. Most of all she will be remembered for saying, "I love you the most."

Myrtle entered St. Francis Home in 2002. She continued to enjoy her life while residing there, and appreciated the staff and her many visitors.
