Neva Neppl, 67, Pelican Rapids, MN, formerly Kent, MN, died Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Pelican Valley Nursing Home, Pelican Rapids, MN. Her funeral will be Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Kent. Fr. Kenneth Popp will be officiating, assisted by Pastoral Associate, Darcy Troville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
Intermentwill be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent, MN.
Neva is survived by: Her children: Greg (Candy) Neppl, Erhard, MN; Brenda (Curt) Hirschkorn, Moorhead, MN; Kimberly (Brian) Arnhalt, Kent, MN; Linda Neppl (Kelly O'Brien), Perham, MN; Sue (Mitch) Monson, Pelican Rapids, MN; Her 17 grandchildren; Her 13 great-grandchildren; Her 2 sisters: Claudia Andel, Breckenridge, MN; Mavis (Iver) Johanesson, Loring, MT; Her sister-in-law: Alice Ellsworth, Breckenridge, MN; Many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by: Her parents: Glenn and Adelaide Ellsworth; Her husband: Kenneth Neppl; Her brothers: Stan Ellsworth and Errol Ellsworth; Her brother-in-law: Walter Andel; Her mother and father-in-law: Harold and Laureign (Bellmore) Neppl.
Neva was born November 4, 1938, in Britton, SD, the daughter of Glenn and Adelaide (Reinertson) Ellsworth. When she was 4 years old she moved with her family to Breckenridge, MN, where she grew up and attended school, graduating in 1956.
Neva was united in marriage to Kenneth Neppl on November 26, 1955 at St. Thomas Church in Kent, MN. The couple lived near Kent, where they raised their family and operated a dairy farm. Neva was employed at Wahpeton Canvas Company from 1982 until 1989, when Kenny and Neva moved to Tamarac Lake near Pelican Rapids, MN. She then began working at West Central Turkeys until her health forced her to retire in 2002.
Kenneth preceded her in death on March 30, 1995. Neva continued living at Tamarac Lake until January, 2004, when she moved to Pelican Rapids.
Neva enjoyed dancing, playing cards, spending time at the lake, hosting her children and grandchildren and "spoiling her grandkids."
