Norman Brantl, 77, of Breckenridge, MN died November 2, 2004 at his home in Breckenridge. He was born May 21, 1927 in Crookston, MN.



The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge, MN. Fr. Dale Lagodinski and Fr. Stan Wieser will officiate.



Visitation will be held 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Thursday, November 4, 2004 with a prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation on Friday morning from 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM at the funeral home



Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN.



Norman is survived by his wife: Theresa "Tootie," Breckenridge, MN; His sons and daughters: Mark (Diana) Brantl, Great Falls, MT; Steven (Wesa) Brantl,      Manhattan, KS; David (Vicki) Brantl, Burlington, CO; Judith (Todd) Bjerk, Mora, MN; Daniel (Kathy) Brantl, Lisbon, ND; Laurie (Steven) Oren, Barnesville, MN; Christopher (Tracy) Brantl, Wahpeton, ND



He is also survived by His 25 grandchildren; His 13 great-grandchildren; His sisters: Alice Wagner, Ada, MN; Gladys (Bill) Thorpe, Crookston, MN; Rose (Jim) Bredman, Crookston, MN; and His brothers: Michael Brantl, Minneapolis, MN; and John (Brenda) Brantl, Calif.



He was preceded in death by His parents: Albert and Josephine Brantl; His daughter: Diane Theresa Brantl; and His brother: Paul Brantl.



Norman was born May 21, 1927 to Albert and Josephine (Boutaine) Brantl at Crookston, MN. He attended high school in Ada, MN before joining the U. S. Army in 1947. Following his discharge, Norman was united in marriage to Theresa Kappes on April 28, 1949 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ada. The couple made their home in Grand Forks, ND, and later moved to Grafton, ND, Crookston, MN, and Des Moines, IA before settling in Breckenridge, MN to raise their family. Norman was married 55 years to the love of his life, and together they could accomplish anything. They raised a loving family of 8 children.



Norman enjoyed his career with Cargill Inc., where he was employed for 31 years, most of which were spent as facility manager in Breckenridge. He was a member and played an active role in St. Mary's Church in Breckenridge. Norman was a 4th Degree Knight and he was a member of the Eagles Club in Wahpeton, ND. He also served as board member for St. Francis Home in Breckenridge. Norm's hobbies included music and gardening, but most of all spending time with his family. He is mostly remembered for his sense of humor, his story telling and his kindness and generosity. He had the gift of making you smile.
