History: Olive was born to Paul and Alvina (Werner) Pflueger on January 2, 1911 at Staples, MN. She grew up in the country near Staples, attended country schools and graduated from Staples High School in 1929. She then attended Staples Teachers Training School and became a teacher. Olive taught in Todd County for 3 years before leaving to teach at District 33 in the Rothsay, MN area of Wilkin County. She was united in marriage to Albert Luehring on October 2, 1936 at Staples. The couple farmed near Rothsay until Albert's death in 1987. With the help of her good friends; Gerald, Cathy and Jared Nordick, she was able to stay in her home on the farm until this past February, when she became a resident of St. Francis Home in Breckenridge, MN.
Olive loved to read, do crossword puzzles, garden and travel. She faithfully kept in touch with family and friends through her wonderful letters.
It was Olive's wishes that no memorial service take place following her death.
"If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. My life's been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. God wanted me now. He set me free."
