Orlie Erickson, 90, Fargo, ND, formerly of Wahpeton, ND passed away on Monday, July 16, 2007 at Bethany Homes in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Evergreen United Methodist Church, Wahpeton, ND with Pastor Terry Tilton officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2007, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton, ND.
Orlie was born on August 21, 1916 to Andrew and Minnie (Northway) Boyer at Walcott, ND, where she grew up and attended school.
Orlie was united in marriage to Bennie Erickson on June 8, 1935 in South Dakota. They made their home in Wyndmere, ND where Bennie worked as a grain buyer and then lived in several North Dakota communities. After Bennie retired they moved to Wahpeton. Orlie worked as a nurse?s assistant at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and quilting. She was always a caregiver whenever there was a need in the family or with friends.
In 1994 Bennie and Orlie moved to Texas where Bennie preceded her in death in 1999. Orlie moved back to Wahpeton in 2000 and was always active in her church, school, and community. The past three years she has been a resident at Bethany Homes in Fargo, ND.
Orlie is survived by her two daughters, Charlotte Idso, Euless, TX, Donna Mae Lindsey, Euless, TX; her son, Randy Jay (Connie) Erickson, International Falls, MN; her seven grandchildren, Patty (Bill) Fischer, Doug Idso, Sharon (Jerry) Herrin, Rick (Elaine) Lindsey, Pam (David) Olson, Debra Morris, Andrew (Lana) Erickson; her five great-grandchildren, Daniel Herrin, Mary Lindsey, Isaac and Eli Olson, Jonathan Morris; her eight brothers and sisters: Quentin (Emeth) Boyer, Barney, ND; Eleanor (Reuben) Iverson, Grand Junction, CO; Clarice Skjonsby, Fargo, ND; Darrel (O'Delia) Boyer, Wahpeton, ND; Delton (Ardella) Boyer, Kindred, ND; Gordon Boyer, Fargo, ND; Harlen (Elaine) Boyer, Fargo, ND; Geraldine (Rusty) Fiek, Rochester, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Minnie Boyer; her husband, Bennie Erickson; her son-in-law, Laurel Idso; her five sisters and two brothers.
