Patricia A. Korinek, 52, Breckenridge, MN, died March 12, 2007 at MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Patricia was born September 23, 1954 in Breckenridge, MN, the daughter of Albert and Doris (Hesteness) Wichael. In 1958, she moved with her family from Breckenridge to Campbell, MN, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Campbell/Tintah High School in 1973. Pat then continued her education in Minneapolis, MN for a short time.
On June 15, 1974, Pat was joined in marriage to Kenneth Korinek at Grace Lutheran Church in Breckenridge. The couple made their home in rural Breckenridge, and Pat worked at Spies Grocery Store. In 1976, they purchased their home in Breckenridge. Pat worked at St. Francis Nursing Home and operated a day care out of her home. In 1991, she began working for the Breckenridge School District as a Special Ed Para-professional. She thoroughly enjoyed working there with the kids and her co-workers. She was employed for the School District until her health began failing in 2002.
Pat was involved in many organizations, including the Breckenridge/Wahpeton Hockey Association Board, the Breckenridge Teen Center Board, Breckenridge Lutheran Church Council, Sunday School Teacher and was also co-superintendent for Sunday school. She was also on the board of the Riverside Cemetery Association.
Pat enjoyed spending time at the lake, doing crafts and decorating her home. She especially enjoyed time spent with her family and watching her son and daughter-in-law raise their daughter, Grey.
She is survived by: Her husband: Kenneth,Breckenridge; Her son: Kelly (Lainie) Korinek, Fergus Falls, MN; Her granddaughter: Grey Korinek; Her mother: Doris Wichael, Campbell, MN; Her mother-in-law: Stella Korinek-Hendriks, Breckenridge, MN; Her sisters: Florence (Curtis) Neubauer, Campbell, MN; Dee (Bob) Cramer, Mankato, MN; Judy Wright, Monticello, MN; Evelyn (Kenneth) Link, Fergus Falls, MN; Nancy (Roger) Tischer, Wahpeton, ND;Her brother: James (Maureen) Wichael, Wahpeton, ND; Her sisters and brothers-in-law; Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son: Kyle and her father: Albert Wichael.
Visitation: Thursday, March 15, 2007, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Funeral: Friday, March 16, at 1:00 PM at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Breckenridge.
