Ralph C. Jost, 84, Wahpeton, ND, died November 28, 2007 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton.

The funeral will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Harvest Outreach Church, Wahpeton, ND with Pastor Todd Gafkjen officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 2, 2007 from 4 PM to 7 PM; Prayer Service at 7 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.          Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton, ND.

Ralph is survived by: His wife: Elsie Jost, Wahpeton, ND; His sons: Randy Jost, Wahpeton, ND; Ron (Mary) Jost, Wahpeton, ND; His daughter: Renee (Darrel) Essig, Breckenridge, MN; His grandchildren: Amanda, Carissa, and Dylan Jost, Wahpeton, ND; Dacie and Raeanna Essig, Breckenridge, MN; His sister: Verbena Grinder, Waldorf, Maryland; Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: His parents: Charles and Alice Jost; His two sisters: Florence Stephens and Thelma Jost; His two brothers: Donald and LeRoy Jost

Ralph Charles Jost was born on September 13, 1923 to Charles and Alice (Brand) Jost on the farm west of Wahpeton, ND, where he lived his entire life. He attended country school in Center Township of Richland County. Ralph farmed with his brothers until he joined the Air Force in 1946. He served in the Philippines as a mechanic until his discharge in 1947. He then returned to the home farm and attended NDSCS in Wahpeton from 1948 to 1950 where he received a degree in auto mechanics.

Ralph was united in marriage to Elsie Tapper on June 23, 1956 in Detroit Lakes, MN. He spent the rest of his life farming and raising his children with Elsie. Ralph and Elsie were also instrumental in starting the Assembly of God Church in Wahpeton where they faithfully served in various capacities for many years. Ralph enjoyed his life on the family farm with Elsie and especially enjoyed the times spent with his children and grandchildren.
