Scott Merrick

January 30, 1964 — June 23, 2007

Scott Merrick, 43, Fergus Falls, MN, formerly of Kent, MN passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Kent, MN with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 from 4 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent, MN.



Scott is survived by his two sons, Dylan Merrick, Wahpeton, ND, Nathan Jones, Wahpeton, ND and his daughter Calista Jones; his two sisters, Karmen Merrick, Kent, MN; Mylla (Rick) Horlacher, Phoenix, AZ; his brother, Kirby Merrick, Fargo, ND; his two nieces and three nephews; his one great niece and two great nephews.



Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Richard "Dick" and Geraldine "Mavis" (Steedsmen) Merrick.



Scott was born on January 30, 1964 to Richard "Dick" and Geraldine "Mavis" (Steedsmen) Merrick in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up and attended school in Kent, MN and later went to school in Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1982. Scott then entered the US Army and following his initial training he served in Germany. He then returned to Kent and worked at various places of employment in the area.



On August 1, 1992 Scott was united in marriage to Kim Woytassek at Breckenridge, MN. They made their home in Wahpeton where Scott attended NDSCS. He later moved to Fergus Falls, MN where he has since resided.



Scott enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Dylan and Nathan were his pride and joy in anything either of them did. Scott joined his parents on June 23, 2007 following a massive coronary.
