Terry A. Neppl, 68, Prescott, WI, formerly of Moorhead, MN and Kent, MN, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. His funeral will be held on Wednesday Sept. 19, 2007 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge, MN. Fr. Kenneth Popp will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 7:00PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at the Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND.
Terry is survived by: His 4 children: Troy Neppl (Tammy Wilkie), Moorhead, MN; Kristin (Chris) Middleton, Prescott, WI; Adam (Linda) Neppl, West Fargo, ND; Amy Jo (David) Olson, Grand Forks, ND; His 6 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren; His brothers: Richard (Marlene) Neppl, Fergus Falls, MN; Morris (JoAnn) Neppl, Ridgeley, WV; Tim Neppl, De Kalb, IL; Randy (Jan) Neppl, Wahpeton, ND; His sisters: Trudy (Ray) Such, Fargo, ND; Marge Polansky, Thief River Falls, MN; Nila (Wally) Grenz, Valley City, ND; Jay Neppl, Breckenridge, MN; Carol (Paul) Lenoue, Kent, MN; Renee (Scott) Rossow, Wahpeton, ND; Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: His wife: Shirley (Johnson) Neppl; His parents: Harold and Laureign Neppl; His brother: Kenneth Neppl
Terry was born on August 9, 1939 to Harold and Laureign (Bellmore) Neppl at McCauleyville, MN near Kent, MN. He attended school in Abercrombie, ND, and graduated in 1957. In 1958 he entered the U.S. Army. He served in Germany for two years and then was stationed in North Carolina. Terry returned to the Kent area and farmed with his brothers and uncle until 1964. He then began working at Lillegard's in Wahpeton, ND where he met his future wife. He was united in marriage to Shirley Johnson on November 11, 1966 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge, MN. He worked until 1973 in Wahpeton and then moved to Moorhead, MN. Terry worked for Grants Mechanical and Peterson Mechanical. Later he worked for the Clay County Court House as a custodian. He retired in 2001. Shirley preceded him in death on January 17, 2001. Terry continued living in Moorhead, MN until December, 2003 when he began living with his daughter, Kristin and son-in-law Chris. Terry enjoyed tinkering with many different projects and being at the lake. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
