Thelma Schmock, 90, Breckenridge, MN, died January 14, 2005 at St. Francis Home, Breckenridge. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Breckenridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Terry Tilton will officiate.

Thelma is survived by:     Her children: Wm. Glenn (Deloris) Schmock, Wadena, MN;LaVonne (Charles) Dupree, Breckenridge, MN; LaVay (Jarl) Borresen, Spicer, MN; Her 7 grandchildren; Her 14 great-grandchildren; Her sister: Elaine Weinerth, Shickley, NE; Many nieces and nephews

She was preceded by: Her husband: William Schmock; Her daughters: Juanita Mohrman and Irene Quamme; Her 2 granddaughters; Her parents: Charles Claude and Clara Ogg; Her 5 brothers and 5 sisters; Her grandson-in-law: Robert Roaldson

Thelma Irene Schmock, 90, of Breckenridge, MN, died on January 14, 2005 at St. Francis Nursing Home. Thelma was born on May 12, 1914 in Fillmore County, near Geneva, Nebraska, the daughter of C. Claude and Clara Ethel (Voightlander) Ogg. She completed her elementary education at Chelsea School and attended Geneva High School until she was needed at home to care for her invalid mother. She married William J. Schmock on September 1, 1937 in Shickley, NE. In 1939, they moved to the Norcross, Minnesota area where they farmed and raised their family.

Thelma was an avid gardener and found great pleasure in canning and freezing the fruits and vegetables she grew. She was also a wonderful cook, entertaining family and friends at a moments notice. She was a 4-H leader in Traverse County, passing on her talents to many 4-H members including her own children. She also worked for several years as a nanny for the Weston family in Edina, MN.

In 1969, they moved to Aitkin, MN, enjoying retirement at their lakeside home. Her husband, William, died on September 29, 1993. Thelma moved to Breckenridge, MN in 1997. She entered St. Francis Nursing Home in 2000 where she enjoyed reading, playing cards and visiting.



A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 8, at 1:30 P.M. at the Lakeside Cemetery, Aitkin, MN.
