Virginia Stave

August 20, 1925 — March 19, 2006

Virginia Stave, 80, St. Francis Home, Breckenridge, MN, formerly of Wyndmere, ND, died March 19, 2006 at St. Francis Home, Breckenridge. Her funeral will be held Friday, March 24, 2006, at 11:00 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, ND. Pastor Gary Mikkelson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 23, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery, Wyndmere, ND.

She is survived by: Her children: Clayton " Butch" Lehmann, DeLamere, ND; James (Amy) Lehmann, Abercrombie, ND; Gloria (Robert) Geldersma, Wyndmere, ND; Judy (Joseph) Neiber, Geneseo, ND; Connie (John) Larson, Abercrombie, ND; Debra (Ken) Stevens, Wyndmere, ND; Her 25 grandchildren; Her 29 great-grandchildren; Her brother: Delbert Nelson, Breckenridge, MN.

Preceded by: Her parents: Emanuel and Lilly Nelson; Her first husband: Lester Lehmann; Her second husband: Arnold Stave; Her 4 brothers: Ralph, Robert, Archie and Morris Nelson; Her 4 sisters: Bernice Benedict, Agnes Faxton, Grace Johnson, Mildred Meyer;

Virginia was born August 20, 1925 near White Rock, SD, the daughter of Emanuel and Lillian (Voss) Nelson. She attended and graduated from Brown Siding School at White Rock. Virginia was married to Lester Lehmann on November 28, 1944. They made their home in Wyndmere, ND. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1984. Virginia continued living in Wyndmere until she was married to Arnold Stave on April 5, 1991. They made their home in Wahpeton, ND. He died March 9, 1997. Virginia continued living in Wahpeton.

Virginia worked as a Nurse's Aid at the Wheaton, MN Nursing Home and St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the Eagles Auxiliary Aerie No. 2749 in Wahpeton, the VFW Auxiliary in Sisseton, SD, and Catholic Order of Foresters, Fairmount, ND. She enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Citizen's Center, making quilts, crocheting, gardening and flowers. After marrying Arnie, she enjoyed going with him to Minnesota Twins baseball games.
