There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Warren Hasbargen was born on the family farm near Menahga, Minnesota on April 8, 1924, son of William and Louise (Steffen) Hasbargen. He was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church and confirmed October 23, 1938. Warren attended country school and helped with the family farm and sawmill in Menahga working alongside his father and five brothers until 1940. The family then moved to the Red River Valley where they began farming near Everdell, Minnesota in Sunnyside Township. This was a new experience for them since they came from the "north woods" sawmill and logging area.

On July 11, 1943 he married Hazel Hiedeman at the Breckenridge Methodist Church. They lived on a farm near Wheaton, Minnesota for one year prior to moving to a farm in Sunnyside Township, which they purchased a few years later. They resided there until 1974 when they moved to Breckenridge. They were members of the Foxhome Lutheran Church where Warren served on the church council and was active in church brotherhood. The whole family was involved in building the new church in Foxhome. He was also on the school board for Country School District 24 and served many years on the township board and the Riverside Cemetery Board, where he was chairman. Warren was a member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association, the Elks, and the Eagles.

The most important things in Warren's life were his loving wife Hazel, his family, church and their family farming way of life. He started each day by reading his prayer book. Warren loved farming and spending time with his children's families, especially his grandchildren. He was a dedicated farmer throughout his life. His early years were in diversified farming. In 1954 he built one of the first Loose Housing dairy operations and sold Grade A milk. Over the years he grew many types of crops, but concentrated primarily on grains and sugar beets as his sons joined the farming operation. Warren was active in many farm organizations throughout his life. He served as a director on the Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative board of directors from 1976 to 1985.

Warren gradually moved into retirement as he helped out his sons on the farm. Even after he retired from fieldwork, one could still frequently spot him driving around the area to admire the crops and watch the harvest. For several years, Warren and Hazel wintered in Arizona, enjoying retirement and golf. Warren had an avid interest in sports, beginning with his younger years as a member of the Everdell baseball team. He spent many years on a farmers bowling league and also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed viewing all sports, especially the Vikings and Twins, and his grandchildren's sporting events. Warren has been a resident of the Twin Town Villa since 2006. The afternoon card game won't be the same without his humor.

Surviving are his two sons and two daughters, and their families, Mike (Vernae) of rural Breckenridge and their children, Marc (Kristen), Michelle Rada, and Matt (Katie); Carol (Gerald) Baumann of Renville and their children Nickolas (Tracy) and William (Mary), Joyce (Steven) Caspers of Chaska and their children Gregory (Amanda) and Michael (Kelly); and David (Wayne Zimmerman) of Oxbow, ND and their children Matthew (Marisa) and Brandon (Heidi); and his 14 great-grandchildren, August and Gibson Hasbargen, Colton and Courtney Rada, Alexander and Nicholas Hasbargen, Sean Baumann, Genevieve and Gretchen Baumann, Autumn Caspers, Dylan and Gavin Caspers, and Eli and Owen Zimmerman. He is also survived by his sister Etta Maack, Breckenridge, and many great nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents Bill and Louise; his wife of 61 years, Hazel; his son, Arthur, and daughter, Marjorie; his brothers Clarence, Louis, James, William, and Jacob, and his sisters Arlene and Doris.
