Adam Jacob Holzer

Oct 17, 1985 — Sep 7, 2026

Breckenridge

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Adam "Phish" Jacob Holzer on September 7, 2026, after a brief illness.

Adam was born on October 17, 1985, to Benhard and Wendy Holzer in Mobridge, SD. The family then moved to Breckenridge, MN in 1998, where Adam continued his education and graduated from Breckenridge High School. After graduation, he continued his schooling at NDSCS and in Grand Forks, ND, where he earned two associate degrees. Following college, he returned to Breckenridge, where he was a bartender at Casey’s for almost two decades and recently started at NDSCS in Wahpeton as a boiler operator.

Adam shared a deep love for hunting, golfing, MN Wild, 49ers, Paul McCartney, the Beatles, old westerns, Heineken, and Hamm’s; and a real disdain for Van Halen. He loved his dogs Mia, Paulie, and Miss Jazzy. Always enjoyed a good night of Wheel of Fortune and a glass surface lake.

Adam was deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who met him. He will be remembered for his quick humor, generous heart, and the many ways he made people feel included, whether at softball, golf, Casey’s bar, or his favorite place, the 7 ½ street bar.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, several nieces and nephews, and all who called him friend. He was preceded in death by his father and paternal grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held September 12, 2026, at Wells Memorial Park from 2-5.
