Minnie (Alice as she was known to her friends) Oestreich was born to Milton and Alice (Ellenson) Oestreich on November 24, 1921 in Walcott, ND. She attended the Walcott Schools and graduated in 1939. She was united in marriage on November 8, 1939 to Percy Erickson in Moorhead, MN. Together they made their home and raised their children in Breckenridge. Alice worked at the Aber Restaurant, Uncle Jim’s, and others in the Breckenridge area for many years. Percy preceded Alice on July 28, 1986. Alice and her companion, Bill Hook, helped out widows in the area cutting their grass, cleaning windows and other home maintenance tasks. Alice also volunteered for many years at the Eagles Club in Wahpeton. When she wasn’t busy helping and serving others, Alice enjoyed embroidery, reading and playing her piano. She also loved the fellowship of quilting with the ladies in her church (Breckenridge Lutheran). She considered her time with her family the most precious of all.
When her health began to fail in 2007, Alice moved to the Windmill Ponds Assisted Living in Alexandria, MN. She later moved to Diamond Willow Advanced Care Assisted Living also in Alexandria where she remained until her passing.
