Angeline Miller

January 21, 1934 — December 22, 2025

Moorhead

Angeline “Angie” Delores Pechlat was born on January 21, 1934, in Breckenridge, Minnesota, the fifth daughter of Laura (Buth) and John A. Pechlat. At the time, the family lived southeast of Abercrombie, North Dakota. Angie began her education in a rural school before the family moved to Breckenridge in 1946, where she later graduated from Breckenridge High School.

Following graduation, Angie worked for one year with the Herman School System in Herman, Minnesota. She then moved to Minneapolis, where she was employed by Twin City Federal. In 1952, Angie returned to Herman and began working for Delaware Mutual Insurance, beginning what would be a lifelong dedication to service and community.

On November 28, 1953, Angie was united in marriage to James L. Miller in Herman. Their early years together took them to Norfolk, Virginia, where Jim was stationed at the U.S. Navy base, and later to Phoenix, Arizona, where Angie worked for an insurance agency. In 1959, they returned to Herman and operated a café before settling in Breckenridge. There, Angie began a long and respected career with the Wilkin County Sheriff’s Department, where she served faithfully for 26 years until her retirement in 1993.

Angie was deeply committed to her community and faith. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #53 and the VFW Auxiliary Unit #2766. An active and devoted member of St. Mary’s Church in Breckenridge, Angie served as President of the Ladies Guild and contributed her time and leadership to numerous church committees. She also served as President of the Wilkin County Employees Association, reflecting her strong sense of advocacy and service to others.

In 2015, Angie moved to River Pointe Senior Living in Moorhead, where she continued to share her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength with those around her.

Angie will be lovingly remembered by her son, David (Mary) Miller of Oxbow, North Dakota; her grandchildren, Julia Miller of Fargo, Jared Miller of Fargo, and Jenna Miller of Shakopee; her step-grandchildren, Hannah (Ross) Pavek of Fargo and Thomas Stende of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her great-granddaughter, Sophie Pavek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and John Pechlat; her beloved husband, Jim Miller; and her four sisters, CeCelia Johnson, Florence Weiss, Louise Abel, and Lucy Duke.

Angie’s life was marked by devotion—to her family, her faith, and her community. Her steady presence, generous heart, and lifelong service will be remembered with gratitude and love by all who knew her.
