Julius Cloeter at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Claire City, SD. Art attended school at Lidgerwood Public School and farmed on the family farm.
On September 22, 1949, Arthur was united in marriage to Earlean Shustrom. The couple farmed and made their home in Duerr Township until 1954, when they moved back to the home farm in Moran Township. He retired from farming in 1989. Art and Earlean continued living on the farm until September, 1998 when they moved to Wahpeton, ND.
Art was an active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Lidgerwood. He also served on the boards for Moran Township, the Lidgerwood Farmers Elevator and Lidgerwood school.
