Audrey was born on August 3, 1935, to Mathias and Clara (Thoennes) Hockert on their farm in Millerville, MN. After elementary school at St. Mary’s School in Millerville and graduation from Brandon High School in 1953, Audrey began nurses training at St. Francis School of Nursing in Breckenridge. It is in Breckenridge where Audrey met the love of her life, Philip Boll, and they were married on June 1, 1957, in Millerville, MN.
Audrey worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, with most of that time spent at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN. Audrey loved the time she spent with family and the special connections and friendships she had with the young people in her life. Gardening, bird watching, and playing cards were her favorite hobbies. Many friends and family remember receiving fresh-cut roses from her beautiful gardens on Maple Street.
Audrey lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service to others and was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. Audrey found great comfort in prayer and believed in the power of the Rosary, and often prayed for family, friends, and those in need.
Audrey will be dearly missed by her son, Jon Boll (Lorraine Neppl) of Wahpeton, ND, and his children Stephanie Boll, Adam (Kadee) Boll, and Tyler (Johanna) Boll; her daughters, Heidi (Rob) Egge of Minot, ND, and their children, Jacquelyn Wienbar, Kristen (Jerod) Satrom, and Courtney (Zach) Koelzer; Julie (Matthew) Ihland, Breckenridge, MN, and their children Benjamin Ihland and Emma Ihland (Jackson Prochnow); Jill (Mike) Boldingh, Breckenridge, MN, and their children, Olivia (Parker) Giroux and Charles (Madison) Boldingh; Amy (Matthew) Miranowski, Abercrombie, ND, and their children, Penelope Miranowski and Lillian Miranowski; two brothers, Ron Hockert and Keith Hockert; one brother-in-law, Mark Sanborn; many nieces and nephews.
Nana leaves behind seventeen great-grandchildren, whom she was so very proud of: Jaxon, Dawson, Jozie, Claire, Sauly, Hazel, Harper, Owen, Eli, Silas, Axl, Olive, Archie, Baker, Vincent, Georgia, Sloan, and one more on the way.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Philip, her parents, and her sister Sylvia Sanborn.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Home and the CHI Health at Home hospice team for the wonderful care and support shown during this time.
