Bernard O. Loeks, 84 of Campbell, MN died September 19, 2012 at Pioneer Care in Fergus Falls, MN. The visitation will be on Sunday, September 23 at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge, MN from 5 to 8PM and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The funeral will be Monday, September 24 at 11AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Campbell, MN with Pastor Carl Berner officiating. The interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Campbell, MN.

Bernard was born November 5, 1927 to Benjamin and Ida (Donnan) Loeks at their home in Bradford Township, near Campbell, MN. He attended Campbell, Doran and Breckenridge public schools through the tenth grade, leaving early to help on the family farm. In June of 1950 he met and married his sweetheart, Marceen Stargel. They moved to their current farm of sixty two years in rural Campbell where they raised their family.

Never one to sit on the sidelines of life, Bernard was active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he was an Elder for 29 years and served in other capacities as well. He served on the Champion Township Board for 25 years and was a member of the Lions Club for over 10 years. He considered it a privilege to give blood and was a member of the 5 gallon club.

Bernard enjoyed the outdoors where he hunted pheasant and deer and fished with his family and friends. But his true love was farming where he raised dairy cattle until 1974 and farmed the land growing corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, sunflowers and sugar beets.

Bernard is survived by his of wife of 62 years, Marceen Loeks of Campbell, MN; his 4 children, Debra (David) Loeks-Schroeder of Madison, WI, Doreen (Charles) Bohn of Wahpeton, ND, Jefferey (Shary) Loeks of Campbell, MN and Jud (Robin) Loeks of Elbow Lake, MN; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his sisters Gloria Wateland, Clarabell Johnson, Binnie Strom; his brothers Idell (Ally) Loeks and Toby (Dorothy) Loeks.

Bernard is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Ida, his brother Wildy; his sisters-in-law Delight Loeks and Eileen Loeks.
