Bruce Krause

Bruce P. Krause, 51, of rural Fairmount , ND , died November 22, 2009 at his home.



His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, at First English Lutheran Church , Fairmount , ND . Pastor Anthony Ahrendt will officiate.



Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN . There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church in Fairmount.



Interment will be at the Fairmount Cemetery , Fairmount , ND .



Pallbearers will be Zach Willemssen, Tanner Oliphant, Jordan Burlison, Sam Johnson, Dustin Krause, Casey Green and Derek Willemssen.



Honorary pallbearers are all of Bruce’s nieces, Godchildren and all who called him friend.



Bruce was born September 27, 1958 to Milton and LaVonne (Bladow) Krause in Breckenridge , MN . He grew up and attended school in Fairmount , ND , graduating in 1976. Following high school graduation he attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND for electronics, and then worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as a rail inspector, being transferred in 1982 to Missouri for one year. In 1983, Bruce, along with his brothers, Doug and Roger started Krause Brothers Construction of Fairmount and Wahpeton, a business he has since owned and operated.



Bruce was united in marriage to Karleen Willemssen on January 11, 1986 at First English Lutheran Church in Fairmount. They have always made Fairmount their home.



Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling the forty-eight states, Canada and the Bahamas with his family, scuba diving, spending time with his motorcycle buddies, time out at the lake and time spent with his special friend, his dog, “Jed.” He always enjoyed music, especially playing his guitar.



Bruce was a member of the Fairmount Fire Department and First Responders for 23 years and an Elder and member of First English Lutheran Church . Bruce was a loving father who made it a point to spend time with his girls.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the “Embrace” Survivorship program through the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo , ND or the Roger Maris Cancer Center .



He is survived by his wife: Karleen Krause, Fairmount, ND; His three daughters: Meghan (Carl) Tegtmeier, Fargo, ND; Chelsea Krause, Fargo, ND; and Jade Krause, Fairmount, ND; His sister: Diane (Charlie) Johnson, of Vining, MN, and their children, Ericka, Sam and Hilary; His brother: Roger (Kim) Krause of Wahpeton, ND, and their children, Austin and Alex; His father: Milton Krause, Fairmount, ND; His niece: Shawna (Casey) Green, Fairmount, ND; His nephew: Dustin (Kris) Krause, Wahpeton, ND; His mother-in-law: Donna Willemssen, Breckenridge, MN; His brothers-in-law: Rodney Willemssen, Wahpeton, ND; Les (Patsy) Willemssen, Wahpeton, ND, and their son, Adam (Monica) Willemssen; Tom (Kim) Willemssen, Breckenridge, MN and their children, Alysha (Tanner) Oliphant and Zach Willemssen; His sister-in-law: Michelle Willemssen and her children, Darcie and Derek;  and many great nieces and nephews.



Bruce was preceded in death by his mother: LaVonne Krause; His brother: Douglas Krause; His sister-in-law: Bernice Krause; His Godparents: Theodore and Helen Bladow and Arthur and Mata Krause; His father-in-law: Thaine “Doc” Willemssen; His brothers-in-law: Donald Willemssen and Gary Willemssen.
